Honeybees for pollination

The Kobe beef of pork

Developed in Hungary in the mid-nineteenth century by Austrian archduke József, the Mangalica breed is a cross of Hungarian and Serbian breeds.

The Mangalica is one of the fattiest pigs in the world, with 65% of fat and 35% meat. The meat, considered among the tastiest pork in the world, is reddish, highly marbled with creamy white fat, and high in omega-3 fatty acids and natural antioxidants.Mangalica lard is lighter, and melts at a lower temperature, because it contains more unsaturated fat.

Because of the high fat content, cured Mangalica pork products can spend a longer time drying, which deepens the flavor without losing moisture. In Spain, traditional ham makers discovered that Mangalica is ideal for the long, air-cured process that makes their hams famous around the world. While the Mangalica pig will never be raised in great numbers, and as an artisanal product costs more than other heritage breed pork, it is gaining adherents who relish the intense flavor and abundant fat. Chefs across the United States have increasingly been serving Mangalica in both fresh and cured forms.

Breeds for hunting and herd protection

There's no replacement for a specialized dog helping you in the farm or in hunting. We have employed a variety of breeds, and our favorites for herd protection are without a doubt the Anatolian Shepherd and the Australian Blue Heeler. These breeds have in our opinion the perfect mix of friendliness, protectiveness and independence.

The Patterdale Terrier is an English breed, suitable both as a predator deterrent and hunting companion. Extremely energetic and confident, is as capable as herd guardian as he is pursuing and tracking prey.
